Senior Programmer

Threewave Software is looking for an exceptional and proactive Senior Programmer to join our programming team. The candidate must have at minimum 6 years experience in programming, professional mathematical or physical applications, and a strong understanding of 3D Mathematics and linear algebra. A love of mathematics and gaming is essential for this position. You will report to the Lead Programmer and will work closely with him/her to improve and enhance some of the best engine technologies in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Create gameplay, physics, AI, tools, network, graphics, etc. that raises the bar of video games.
Work closely with the Lead Programmer, Art and Design Teams to enhance gameplay immersion.

Education AND Experience:

A Bachelors degree in Computing Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical or Software Engineering, or the equivalent in experience in real-world math, physics or graphics programming.
6-8+ years of C/C++ experience.
4-6+ years of game development experience considered an asset.

Required:

Strong mathematical skill set.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
A passion for gaming, physics, AI, tools, network, graphics, etc.

Preferences:

Experience with MS Visual Studio.
Highly proficient in Object Oriented Design.
Experience with Perl, Python or Lua, considered a strong asset.
Experience using Perforce considered an asset.
Experience using C# considered an asset.
Leadership skills considered an asset.
Personal/hobby game projects.

Duties:

Assist in the planning of the production schedule for your programming tasks.
Be able to take responsibility for programming features; gathering and writing technical specification and implementing them with high quality standards.
As a member of a team, you must be able to both give and receive feedback on code implementation. Ensure work is executed at the highest quality possible across the team.
